Adam Tomas Burnett

Adam Burnett, 20, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at his home in Le Mars from an accidental overdose.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Deacon Doug Heeren will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Seney, Iowa. Visitation, with the family present, will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Adam Tomas Burnett, the son of Theresa Kinney and Rusty Burnett, was born on April 11,2006, in Le Mars, Iowa. He attended school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 2024. He was currently working for Barkley’s Bag in Le Mars.

Adam enjoyed fishing and hunting. He enjoyed skateboarding, until he blew out his left knee. He enjoyed going to the gym and working out, until he blew out his right knee. Playing video games and enjoying an ice cold Coors Banquet, with all of his BEST FRIENDS was a weekly (or multi weekly) ritual. Adam was the funniest person in the room, especially if his siblings were around. He had an elite sense of style, never caring what others thought. He definitely marched to the beat of his own drum!

Survivors include his parents, Theresa and Rusty; his siblings: Laura (Zach Johme, I LOVE YOU!!), and their children Karter and Karsen, Alex (Jozi Poeckes), and Arik all of Le Mars, IA; maternal grandparents, Jim and Shirley Kinney of Le Mars, IA; paternal grandfather, Jim Burnett (Shelley Zimmerman) of Seney, IA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and too many best friends, many that have become honorary siblings, to begin to list.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmothers, Judy Lang and Kathy Burnett; and his uncles, Jimmy Kinney, Mark Kinney, Jimmy Burnett, Archie Port, and Terry Port.
