Adelaide Meyer , 99, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at her home in Le Mars.

Private family services will be held.  Burial will be in the Timber Lake Cemetery in Timber Lake, South Dakota.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Adelaide Lorraine Kuni was born December 26, 1921 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the daughter of Harry and Mary (Kenny) Kuni.  She grew up on a farm north of Isabel, South Dakota.  She attended school in Aberdeen and graduated in 1939.  She attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen and graduated with her teaching degree in 1942.

She was united in marriage to Carl Meyer on November 25, 1945.  Adelaide spent 50 years teaching, which included McLaughlin Country School system, Timber Lake High School in South Dakota and at Meriden-Cleghorn High School in Iowa.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time with her family.  She was a past Worthy Matron for the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her children: June Pahl of Wright, WY, Carol Warren of Fort Dodge, IA, Thelma (Titus) Allen of Cary, NC, Lu (Jim) Rolfes of Le Mars, IA, Shirley Chalmers of Cary, NC, and Del Meyer of Meriden, IA; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Meyer; her brother; her sister; and 3 sons in law.
