Agatha "Aggie" Sitzmann , 99, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2021 at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars. Reverend Bruce Lawler will celebrate Mass. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Agatha Lorraine Nuebel was born September 24, 1922 in rural Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Meis) Nuebel. She grew up in America Township, rural Plymouth County and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in Le Mars in 1941.
She was united in marriage to Edward Sitzmann, Jr. on May 13, 1943 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Long Beach, California. At the end of World War II, they returned to Le Mars, Iowa. They farmed for more than 30 years in America Township, just southeast of Le Mars. In 1981, they moved into Le Mars. Ed passed away October 11, 2003 in Le Mars, Iowa.
She was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars. She was a longtime member of Catholic Daughter's, Christian Mothers, and the Catholic ladies club. She volunteered with Hospice for many years.
Survivors include 7 sons: David (Margaret) Sitzmann of Green Valley, AZ, Chuck (Ann) Sitzmann of Rogers, AR, Mark (Lana) Sitzmann of Windsor, CO, Neil Sitzmann of Tucson, AZ, Roger (Peg) Sitzmann of Savage, MN, Peter Sitzmann of Rapid City, SD, and Jay (Christine) Sitzmann of Le Mars; 2 daughters: Ann (Dan) Kurth of Aledo, TX and Sandra Sitzmann-Kennedy (Lawrence) of Hot Springs, MT; 31 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; daughter in law, Kathy Sitzmann; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Josephine Nuebel; her husband, Ed Sitzmann; two sons: Douglas Sitzmann and Gene Sitzmann, and daughters-in-law Betty Sitzmann, and Terri Sitzmann; siblings: Leo Nuebel, Lawrence Nuebel, Vincent Nuebel, Mary Bohlke, Vivian Sitzmann, Leona Sitzmann, Rosella Sitzmann, and Dorothy Crooks.
