Alma Noe, 94, of Orange City, Iowa, formerly of Hawarden, Iowa, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at UnityPoint Health St. Luke’s – Downtown in Sioux City, Iowa.

Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the Alton Reformed Church in Alton, Iowa. Pastor Scott Bonestro will officiate. Visitation with the family present will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. There will be a Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Nassau Township Cemetery, rural Alton, Iowa. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Alma Ruth Rexwinkel, the daughter of John C. and Alice (Beltman) Rexwinkel, was born on February 8, 1932, on a farm in Nassau Township, rural Sioux County, Iowa. She attended school in Alton and graduated from Alton High School. She attended college at Morningside in Sioux City and graduated with her degree in music education. She obtained her master’s degree in music from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.

She taught music at West Sioux High School in Hawarden, Iowa, for over 35 years, retiring in 1994. Following her retirement, she substituted for many years.

She was united in marriage to Ivoran ‘Ivan’ Noe on December 24, 1962. To this union, a son, Cleland was born. The couple made their home in Hawarden. Ivan passed away on April 17, 2003. Alma continued to make her home in Hawarden until moving to Orange City to be closer to her brother, Henry.

Alma loved playing the organ. She was the church organist for Hawarden United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She also played the organ for St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hawarden for over 34 years.

Survivors include her son, Cleland (Sony) Noe of Wilmette, IL, and their children, Silas and Kira; a stepdaughter, Patricia (Steve) Pajka of Harleysville, PA, and their children, Seth and Kristi; and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John C. and Alice Rexwinkel; her father and mother in law, Dana and Elsie Noe; her husband, Ivan Noe; two brothers: Joseph (Bertha) Rexwinkel and Henry Rexwinkel; and a niece, Barbara Rexwinkel.
