Anna Rolfes , 80, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. James Church in Le Mars. Father Matthew Solyntjes will celebrate Mass. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a Parish Rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .
Anna Marie Fraser was born February 14, 1939 in Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Petra (Pedersen) Fraser. She attended Liberty country school near Westfield, Iowa. She graduated from Westfield High School.
She was united in marriage to Bernard Rolfes on August 20, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. They made their home in Le Mars. Early on, Ann was a homemaker for her family. Later on, she worked as a waitress in Le Mars. She also worked for Goodwill and later as a breakfast host for the Holiday Inn Express in Le Mars until retiring due to her health. Bernard passed away November 26, 2001 in Le Mars. She continued to live at her home in Le Mars until April of 2018, when she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars.
She was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars. She also volunteered for many years with Boy Scouts. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching all of them in their activities and events.
Survivors include her children: Mike (Donna) Rolfes of Alton, IA, Jean (Russ) Duckwitz of Hebron, ND, Patty (Dale) Gearke of Le Mars, Tim (Michelle) Rolfes of Le Mars, and Roger Rolfes of Le Mars; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; her sister: Anita Little of Burlington, NC; her in laws: Lawrence Rolfes of Le Mars and Betty Rolfes of Le Mars; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Petra Fraser; her husband, Bernard Rolfes; two grandsons: Reid Gearke and Zach Rolfes; her siblings: Paul Fraser, Charles (Joyce) Fraser, Bessie (Jerry) Chapman, and Betty (Richard) Chapman; and a brother in law: Harold Little.
