Betty Ann Meyer, 90 of Akron, Iowa, after a full and complete life, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Akron Care Center in Akron.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron. Visitation with the family present will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the service time. Burial will be at Union Creek Lutheran Cemetery in rural Akron.

Betty Ann Weyen was born on August 17, 1932 in Sioux County, Iowa to Herman and Lena (Vander Hamm) Weyen. She attended school in Chatsworth, Iowa. Betty was united in marriage to Lloyd Meyer in Luverne, Minnesota on October 22, 1951 and they made their home in Akron.  Betty worked for Otis Radio in Hawarden for 27 years. Betty was a member of Union Creek Lutheran Church in rural Akron. She was also an avid bingo player with her partner in crime Lori Wetrosky for many years.

Betty is survived by her daughters: Brenda Nickels of Mt. Sterling, KY, Deb (Rick) McPherson of Akron, and April (Shane) Wortman of McCook Lake, SD; 5 grandchildren: Cody (Keesha) Nickels, Kyle (Kayla) Nickels, Teresa [Jeff] DeWolf,  Jeremy (Alison) McPherson, and Brianna (Chad) Sommervold; 10 great grandchildren: Joel, Presley, Jackson, Kolby, Ava, Elly, Cade, Cole, Aubrie and Jayden; brother, Raymond Weyen of Sioux Center, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Lloyd Meyer; her parents Herman and Lena Weyen; brother, Darold 'Dean' (Pat) Weyen; sister, Dorothy 'Dolly' (Jack) De Vos; and sister in law, Helen Weyen.
