Brent Augustine, 40, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis Hospital in Davenport.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at All Saints Catholic Parish - St. Joseph Church in Le Mars.  Father Doug Klein will celebrate Mass.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.  Visitation with the family present will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at St Joseph Church.  There will be a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 pm.  Visitation will resume from 9:30 am until 10:15 am on Thursday at the church.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Brent Alan Augustine, the son of Steve and Janet (Rolfes) Augustine, was born on September 14, 1984, in Willmar, Minnesota. At the age of three, he moved with his family to Nebraska before moving to Le Mars when he was seven. He graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 2003. He then went on to earn an Undergraduate and Master's degree in Material Engineering from Iowa State University.

Brent began his career at John Deere, where he spent over 13 years in multiple roles that took him to various facilities throughout the Quad Cities and Ankeny, Iowa. Among his many accomplishments, he contributed to the development of four patents. After his time at John Deere, Brent worked as a contractor for the Department of Defense at the Rock Island Arsenal and was most recently serving as a Senior Engineer for LMT Defense in Eldridge, Iowa.

Brent was the life of the party, always bringing a smile with him wherever he went. He loved golfing and bowling and was an active member of leagues for both. His hobbies also included hunting, fishing, working on cars, attending the Indianapolis 500, solving crossword puzzles, and playing solitaire. A true Cyclone, he carried his Iowa State pride with him everywhere he went.

Survivors include his parents, Steve and Janet Augustine of Le Mars, IA; a brother, Corey (Sheila) Augustine of La Vista, NE, and their children, Brynn and Raegan; a brother, Eric (Jodi) Augustine of Olathe, KS, and their children, Micah, Emmery, and Maddox; a brother, Jared (Laura) Augustine of Overland Park, KS, and their children, Abby, Haddie, and Grant; his special friend, Emma Gallegos—his "Work Wife"—of Davenport, IA; his aunts and uncles: Lorie (Gene) Nussbaum, Kathy (Dave) Bowman, Donna (Jack) Harpenau, Bonnie Kirkendall, Ellen DuPre, Joyce (Don) Jennings, Todd (Kim) Rolfes, Kyle (Megan) Rolfes, Dave (Nancy) Augustine, Lori (Tom) Ortmann, Larry (Crystal) Augustine, Tim (Lori) Augustine, and Michelle (Taage) Foreman; and several cousins and extended relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ken and Doris Rolfes and Ralph and Cleon Augustine; his uncle, Dan Kirkendall; and a cousin, Charley Jo Brewer.
