Carol Lewison, 65, of Hawarden, Iowa, formerly of Le Mars, Iowa and Akron, Iowa, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Hawarden Regional Healthcare in Hawarden, Iowa.

Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Rexwinkel-Schroeder Funeral Home. Visitation with the family present will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Carol Lewison was born on May 2, 1954 to Richard and Lavina Lewison. She was raised in Akron and graduated from Akron High School in 1972.  She moved to Sioux City after graduation to live with her sister, Cathy.  She worked various jobs in Sioux City – all of them were focused on helping people.  She there met and began a long term relationship with Dennis Robertson.  Carol and Dennis had one daughter together, Christina.  In 1980, Carol and Christina moved back to Akron. Carol worked for a time at Coil Craft and the Akron Care Center.  Carol also took care of her elderly mother, Lavina, after she was diagnosed with Parkinson's.

Carol enjoyed music and going dancing.  She loved animals, especially dogs and cats. Carol enjoyed visiting with friends and helping out her family and friends.  Carol also loved Elvis and collected Elvis memorabilia.  In the nursing home, she always wore bracelets and spent a lot of time coloring in coloring books.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Christina (Dave) Compton of Akron, Iowa; siblings: Cathy Dover of Bentonville, Arkansas, Cheryl Krause of Remsen, Iowa, Claudia Rasmussen of Akron, Iowa, Rick Lewison of Akron, Iowa, and Cindy (Paul) Hutchins of Scammon, Kansas; aunts: Mary Lou Lewison of Akron, Iowa and Betty Heyl of Akron, Iowa; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Lavina; brothers in law: Mark Rasmussen and Lester Dover; nephew, Randy Rasmussen.
