Charlotte Ann Beeck, 85 of Akron, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Unity Point Health – St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., all on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron. Charlotte Ann Peterson was born on December 15, 1939 to Arnold and Alice (Davis) Peterson in Vermillion, South Dakota. She was raised in Vermillion where she attended and graduated from high school.
Charlotte worked for most of her adult life as a nurse's aide. She lived in Riverside, California for a short time before making her home in Denison, Iowa. She was working at Crawford County Memorial Hospital where she met her soul mate, Arlin Beeck. They were married on October 24, 1975. They continued living in Denison and later moved to Oto, IA, Centerville, SD, and eventually in 2010 they retired to Akron, Iowa.
Charlotte enjoyed filling in puzzle books and playing on her tablet. She loved flowers and even worked at her daughter's family owned greenhouse for a few years. She enjoyed traveling with friends and being social, especially when playing cards with family and friends. She loved spending time with those she loved, never missing any family events or holidays. She was a wonderful cook, and her lasagna was her specialty.
Charlotte is survived by her children: Pam Weyen of Sloan, IA, Keith (Deb) Ritchey of Sloan, IA, and Kevin Ritchey of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren: Anthony (Sarah) Black, Corey Schink, Sherrea Black, Kelli Schink, and McKenzi (Sam) Ritchey; five great grandchildren: Kaylee Black, Trynadi (Cyrus) Loonsfoot, Aiden Black, Cassidy Loonsfoot, and Kamryn Romer; brother, Doug (Shirley) Peterson; sisters: Jean Peterson and Judy Schink; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended relatives.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Alice (Davis) Peterson; husband, Arlin; brother, Roger Peterson; and infant grandson, David Ritchey.
