Charlotte M. Beeck, 82 of Akron, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Akron Care Center in Akron, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026 at St. Patrick's CatholiChurch in Akron, Iowa. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Akron. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron. Charlotte May Henrich was born on June 6, 1943 in Akron, Iowa to John 'Jack' and Amelia (Lambert) Henrich. She attended school in Akron and graduated from Akron High School in 1961.
Charlotte was united in marriage to Emil Beeck on June 19, 1965 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and they made their home in Akron.
Charlotte's earliest years working were at the Highway Café in Akron, where she actually met Emil. She then primarily stayed home and provided daycare for many children in the Akron community. Later on she also worked at the school and in the kitchen at the Akron Care Center. She retired from the Care Center in 2011.
Charlotte enjoyed playing cards and going fishing. Their family took many day and weekend trips to fish in Minnesota and South Dakota. She loved to be outside, and especially loved riding on the side by side with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charlotte was a beloved grandma and great grandma, her favorite time was spent with her family. She could carry on a conversation with anyone, never meeting a stranger. She was also well known for her really great potato salad.
Charlotte is survived by her daughters: Lisa (John) Koch of Woodbine, IA, and Mary (Leon) Smith of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren: Nathan (Natasha) Roggatz of Sioux City, IA, Jennifer (Kane) Koster of Hockley, TX, Cody Siemers of Sioux Falls, SD, and Sylis Brandt of Sioux Falls, SD; step grandchildren: Nick (Krista) Koch of Arcadia, IA and Justin Koch of Grimes, IA; great grandchildren: Addy, Peyton, and Ellie; step great grandchildren: Laytin, Gabby, Collin, and Brynn; siblings: Jim (Kay) Henrich, JoAnn Ziniel, and Susan (Bob) Brown, all of Akron; brother in law, Ed Schoenfelder; many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emil (2016); siblings: Kathleen (Art) Johns, Jackie (Don) Gimberline, and Kay Schoenfelder; and brother in law, John Ziniel.
