Clifford 'Gus' Wayne Muecke, 77 of Hinton, Iowa, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Hinton, Iowa. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. There will be a time of sharing at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Clifford 'Gus' Wayne Muecke was born on December 12. 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa to Kenneth and Lorene (Aase) Muecke. He was raised on the farm in rural Hinton, attending local country school and graduating from Hinton High School. Gus was united in marriage to Rhonda Howe on November 15, 1968 and they lived in rural Hinton. Gus worked lugging beef for several years before they moved onto the Howe family farm. Gus farmed full time, raising crops and pigs, farrow to feeder.

Gus was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Other than farming, Gus enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren at their sporting and school events. Their family took a few memorable vacations: day trips to Yankton, a train ride to Colorado, and Gus's only flight to Disneyland in California. He had a 68 Dodge Charger that he loved to cruise in and enjoyed his daily coffee with the farmers at Ampride in Hinton.

Gus is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rhonda; four children and their families: Dawn (Christopher) Kessenich and their children: Isabelle (Cody) Schmit, Lillian Kessenich, and Jack Kessenich; Erin (Jeff) Zook; Laura (Andrew) Sprague and their children, Cole Sprague, Owen Sprague, and Liam Sprague; Kyle (Katie) Muecke and their children, Chase Grant, Blake Grant, and Nolan Muecke; grandchildren (Chad Muecke's children): Kylie Butler, Seth (Kailey) Butler, Trey Muecke, Trent Muecke, and Kenadi Muecke; siblings: Sharon Ruppert, Michael (Marcia) Muecke, and Greg Muecke; siblings in law: Judy Muecke, Tim (Sharon) Howe, Barry (Judy) Howe, and Penni (Doug) Walraven; nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Gus is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lorene (Aase) Muecke; parents in law, Mervin and Thelma (Pratt) Howe; son, Chad Muecke; brother, Roger Muecke; and siblings in law: Dan Ruppert and Donna Muecke.
