Daniel DeWitt Maddox

Daniel Maddox, 67, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at his home in Le Mars with is loved ones by his side.

Celebration of Life will held on Labor Day Weekend 2026. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Daniel DeWitt Maddox, son of Davis DeWitt Maddox and Barbara Jean Little of Chicago, Illinois was born on June 11, 1958.

Dan proceeded in death by his parents Davis and Barbara.

He enjoyed a daily sauna, music, swimming, gardening, riding his electric bike along the bike path, and riding his motorcycle but above all cherished his brothers and sisters.

Dan never married or had children of his own, though he often said he had 11 children, his beloved nieces and nephew, whom he had the joy of watching grow up.

He is survived by his brothers, Scott Maddox (Alice) of Rock City, Illinois, and Charles Maddox (Laurie) of Le Mars, Iowa; his sisters, Penny Maddox (Dan) of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Dawn Maddox (Kevin) of Naperville, Illinois; his nephew, Cody Maddox (Kayla); his nieces, Jennifer Gravenisch (Luke), Cory Engelking (Jared), Melody Freeman (Anthony), Melissa Freeman (Michael), Hannah Hopton (Rhett), Sarah Rains (Manuel), Gina McNabney, Lauren Nixon (Derek), Lexi Vrieze (Nate), Autumn Ferris (Ben); and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and great nieces and nephews.
