Darrell Wilson, 91 of Akron, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Royal C. Johnson Veterans Memorial Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Memorial services will be held at a later date due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Arrangements are with Rexwinkel Funeral Home of Akron, Iowa. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Darrell Allyn Wilson was born on March 15, 1929 to Noble and Alta (Ast) Wilson in Avoca, Iowa where he spent his childhood. In 1952 Darrell enlisted in the United States Army and served with an artillery unit in Korea during the conflict. After he was honorably discharged in 1954, Darrell began working full time in construction. Darrell was united in marriage to Phyllis (McCorkell) Feauto on December 31, 1959 in La Verne, Minnesota. They lived in Avoca, Iowa for several years before moving to southern California in 1963. Darrell worked for a brewery and later for Dri Powr in Azusa, California. After retirement in 1996, they moved back to Akron, Iowa. Phyllis passed away in 2008.

In his younger years Darrell enjoyed ocean and freshwater fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren. Darrell was a long-time member of the VFW and Hoschler American Legion Post 186 in Akron.

Darrell is survived by his step son, Gary Feauto of Akron, Iowa; grandchildren: Krystina (Paul) Gottschlich and their children Sydney and Nathaniel of Temecula, California; Jerry Blodget Jr. of Sage, California; Michael (Kimberly) Feauto, of Alamogordo, New Mexico; Stephanie (Randy) Weaver and their sons, Steven and Ricky Weaver of Chatfield, Texas; sister, Virginia Roberts of Sierra Vista, Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Noble and Alta Wilson; wife, Phyllis; daughter, Arliss Blodgett; son, Steven Feauto; sister, Pauline Carter; and brother LeRoy (Marcia) Wilson.
