David Klemme, 72, of Akron, Iowa, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

David Roger Klemme, the son of Harvey and Betty (Morehead) Klemme, was born on March 15, 1952, in     Akron, Iowa. He attended school in Akron and graduated from Akron High School in 1970.

On October 21, 1978 he was united in marriage to Sharon Hawks at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron.

Dave began working as a car salesperson in Akron and Sioux City before going to work as a truck driver. He began his career at Heyl Truck Lines in Akron. He later worked for Klemme Trucking before going to work for Higman Sand and Gravel in Akron. He retired from L.G. Everist at the age of 65.

Dave was a loving person who was willing to lend a hand to anyone who was in need. He was truly loved by all who knew him. Dave was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon of Akron; his son, Paul Klemme of Akron, and his two sons, Dominick and Sawyer; a step son, Dustin (Melinda) Appley of Akron, and their  children, Kristi, Kiana, Travian, and Ty; his mother, Betty Klemme of Akron; a sister, Angela Hansen of Austin, MN; a brother, Scott (Stephani) Klemme of Akron; his in laws,   Janet (Charles) Eskra of Lincoln, NE, and Mike (Rhonda) Hawks of Akron; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Klemme; his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Neva Hawks; 2 daughters in infancy; 2 brothers in infancy; and his brother-in-law, Dan Hansen.
