Obituary

Dave Wiebke passed away on 11-23-2021 from Covidcomplications while undergoing chemotherapy for a brain tumor, the day after his 66 th birthday. He never did things theeasy way, he did them his way.

Dave was born in LeMars, Iowa on Nov 22, 1955. He graduated from Remsen Union in 1974, while playing quarterback in football and guard in basketball. He went on toIowa Lakes CC and the University of Dubuque and helped lead the football team to the Iowa Conference Championship. His adult life was spent running the three generation family farm south of Remsen.

Known as Dap to his friends, and later as Fester, his greatest gift was to make people laugh, and laugh, and LAUGH! That's what people remember most about Dave was how much they laughed when he was around. Whether telling stories with his animated body language and facial expressions, or pondering the mundane subjects of potato salad or pickle juice, he always left his audience roaring in merriment. Dave enjoyed playing golf with family members in Missouri and Remsen, because we never kept score. He will be sorely missed.

Dave is survived by his wife Jeanne, his brother Rich of Ames Iowa and sister Mary of Cleveland Missouri, Jeanne's son Ryan and daughter Jamie both of Remsen, and his first wife's daughter Lonnie of Virginia.

Per Dave's wishes, his ashes will be spread on the family farm next spring with a Celebration of Life ceremony concurrent with his Uncle Harry Wiebke.
