Debra McKnight, 66 of Le Mars, Iowa and previously from Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars with Pastor Jan Christensen officiating. Services are with Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa.

Debra Lynn Schafer was born on March 2, 1959 in Sioux City, Iowa to William J.D. Schafer Jr and Phyllis Delores (Huffman) Watkins. She was one of seven children in their family. Debra was raised and attended school in Sioux City. Debra was united in marriage to Cecil McKnight and they made their home in Sioux City.

Cecil passed away in 2011 and Debra moved to Akron, Iowa in 2015. Debra later moved to Le Mars and became a resident at the Good Samaritan Society in 2019.

Debra liked watching Little House On The Prairie & The Waltons. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and dressing up for holidays, especially Halloween. She also loved to cheer on Caitlin Clark.

Debra is survived by her son, Alvin Miller; several siblings, nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Debra is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a stillborn infant child; and two siblings: Diane and Gary.
