Delores 'Dee' McDougall, 93, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her beloved family.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Methodist Church of Le Mars. Pastor Jason Larson will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Delores Jean Johnson, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy Johnson, was born on June 21, 1932, in Sioux City, Iowa. She was raised in Sioux City, where she attended school and later found employment with Sunshine Foods.

Dee was united in marriage to Virgil 'Stub' Girard, and together they had two children, Tim and Robyn. Her life was forever changed when Virgil passed away unexpectedly following an accident. In time, she married Richard Burnight, and they had two sons, Rich and Ron, before divorcing later. Dee eventually found enduring love with Bill McDougall, and together they made their home in Le Mars, where they shared their lives together until her passing.

In her younger years, Dee loved the simple joys of life - roller skating, bowling, and dancing. She also enjoyed going to the horse races and trying her luck at the casino. For more than 20 years, she and Bill escaped the cold Iowa winters by traveling together to warmer destinations, creating countless memories along the way.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Bill, of Le Mars; her children Robyn (Dennis) Jones of Alcester, SD; Rich Burnight of Sioux City, IA; Ron Burnight of Minnetonka, MN; and her daughter-in-law, Cheri Girard of Sioux City, IA. Her siblings, Eleanor Ostling of Florida and Larry (Janet) Johnson of Sioux City, IA, also survive her. Her treasured memory will continue through her grandchildren Sarah (Tim) Barck, Jesse Jones, and Tim Girard, and through her great-grandchildren Dylan, Avery, and Dawson Barck, along with Abby and Anna Girard.

From Bill's family she is likewise survived by his children Mike (Kathryn Keane) McDougall of Le Mars, IA; Cindy McDougall of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter-in-law Sara McDougall of Sioux Falls, SD, daughter-in-law, Jane McDougall of Le Mars, IA; and by four grandchildren Bobby McDougall; Valerie (Brian) Kestner; Justin (Irenia) McDougall; Heather (Tommy) Brown and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind in-laws Doug McDougall of Le Mars; Dick (Pat) McDougall of Coralville, IA; Nick (Donna) McDougall of Kansas City, KS; Denny (Lynn) McDougall of Okoboji, IA; Mark (Jeanie) McDougall of Le Mars; Edith (Gene) Swanson of Mankato, MN; and Janice (Dave) Petry of Waterloo, IA. She is also fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil 'Stub' Girard; her son, Tim Girard; her granddaughter, Megan Marie Jones; her brother, Jim (Rose) Johnson; and her in laws, Dick Ostling and Vonice McDougall, as well as Bill's son, Barry McDougall, and Bill's grandson Zachary McDougall.
