Delores Westhoff, 85, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Akron Care Center in Akron, Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig, Iowa. Reverend Trish Underberg will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Craig, Iowa. There will be no visitation prior to services. Visitation and meal with the family present will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the Legion Hall in Brunsville, Iowa. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Delores Ann Rozell, the daughter of Arthur A. and Louise M. (Doyen) Rozell, was born on April 11, 1940, in Akron, Iowa. She grew up near Akron, Iowa. She attended school in Akron where she played on the girls basketball team. She graduated from Akron High School in 1958. Following high school, she worked for a short time as a switchboard operator in Hawarden and later for Iowa Public Service in Le Mars.

She was united in marriage to Gerald Westhoff on October 4, 1959, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron. They lived in Craig for a few years before moving to a farm near Craig. They lived on a couple of different farms until settling on the family farm southeast of Craig. Delores was a homemaker for her children and helped Gerald on the farm. Delores also worked as an election official for Plymouth County for over 26 years.

She was a longtime member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig. She was active in W.E.L.C.A. for many years. She was also a Sunday school leader and teacher, assisted with confirmation, and served on the altar guild. Delores enjoyed playing golf and watching sport events, especially basketball. She and Gerald enjoyed attending many dances. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them participate in all of their activities.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald of Le Mars, IA; her daughter, Cindy Klemme (Jerry Petersen) of Akron, IA; her son, Rick (Kris) Westhoff of Le Mars, IA; her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Jessica (Clint) Hughes and their family, Makenzie, Brooklyn, and Charlie; Cassie (Joel) Iseminger and their family, Cooper and Judd; Chance (Laura) Klemme and their family, Emerson and Olivia; Zach (Jill) Westhoff and their family, Jarret, Ty, Jaclyn, and Tate; John (Kristina) Westhoff and their family, Rory, Ryan, and Nora; Lee (Michelle) Westhoff and their family, Kent, Ella, Max, Mia, and Raya; Erica Krohn and her family, Jaya and Milo; Kylie Westhoff (Kaden Nemmers); Hope Westhoff; and Grace Westhoff; her siblings: LeRoy Rozell of Akron, IA, Phyllis Hamann of Le Mars, IA, and Karen Hartman of Sioux City, IA; and she was Aunt DeeDee to several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Louise Rozell; her father and mother in law, John and Dora Westhoff; her son, Steve Westhoff; her son in law, Jeff Klemme; her sister, Adele Hansen; her in laws, Richard Hartman, Arlan Oltmanns, La Rue Hansen, Glenn Hamann, and Gaylan (Barb) Westhoff.

The family would like to thank the staff at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota, the Akron Care Center, and St. Croix Hospice for the care and support they provided Delores.
