Dennis Borchers, 82 of Brunsville, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at his home.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2024 at Rock Solid Assembly in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church on Friday. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Dennis Dean Borchers was born on January 27, 1942 in Le Mars, Iowa to William and Dorothy (Jahn) Borchers. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Craig, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Akron High School in 1960. He then attended Wayne State College and Westmar College before graduating from South Eastern College in Keokuk, Iowa with a degree in carpentry and building trades. Dennis' work history included farming and over-the-road trucking. He retired from farming in 1996 but continued trucking as an owner-operator until 2019. Dennis moved to Brunsville, Iowa in 2008.

Dennis was a member at Rock Solid Assembly in Le Mars where he also volunteered as a church bus driver helping to get other church members to church services and events.

His two main loves were going fishing and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Dennis had a strong work ethic and worked hard. He enjoyed traveling, visiting all 48 contiguous states, and watching sports.

Dennis is survived by his two sons and seven grandchildren: Matt (Heidi) Borchers of Graettinger, IA and their sons: Zach and Kaleb, and Scott (Hannah) Borchers of Brownsboro, AL and their children: Samuel, Lucian, Allegra, Phillip, and Elizabeth; long time special friend, Janice Wurth of Le Mars; sisters: Carol (Roger) Van Beek of Sergeant Bluff, IA and Mary Parkinson of Akron, IA; brother in law, Burt Ullrich of Sergeant Bluff, IA; nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Glenda Ullrich.
