Diane Roggow , 72, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Reverend Tim Geitz from Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .
Memorials can be made in Diane's name to Life Skills Training Center, Grace Lutheran Church, and Happy Siesta Health Care Center.
Diane Kay Roggow, the daughter of Orville and Linda (Beckman) Roggow, was born on July 31, 1950 in Cherokee, Iowa. Diane grew up on a farm north Aurelia, Iowa. She attended Brooke Consolidated School near Aurelia. She also received specialized education and training to help cope with the symptoms of Down's Syndrome. In 1967, she moved with her family to Le Mars. She continued her specialized education and training in Rock Valley. In 1973, Diane became a client of Life Skills Training Center in Le Mars. She spent over 45 years with Life Skills. In 2014, she received the Client Achievement Award. She was a hard worker and was willing to tackle any task asked of her. In August of 2021, she became a resident of Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen.
Diane was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. She enjoyed participating in many community activities. In her early years, she enjoyed bowling and participated in the Special Olympics for several years. She had a special place in her heart for kittens. Some of her favorite places to go were Lally's Eastside, McDonalds, and the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor.
Survivors include her siblings: Connie (Larry) Fraser of Hutchinson, MN, Marva (Joe) Hansen of Omaha, NE, and Curtis (Kathy) Roggow of Shawnee, KS; her aunt, Maxine Pithan of Denison, IA; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins; and her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Linda Roggow; and her brother, Norman Roggow.
