Donald Duane Rahfaldt, 74, of Le Mars, Iowa, formerly of Sibley, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, at his home surrounded by  family.

Abiding by his wishes, there will be no services.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Donald Duane Rahfaldt was born on February 8, 1950, in Sibley, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Marie (Lins) Rahfaldt.  He grew up in Sibley, Iowa, where he attended school.  He graduated from Sibley High School in 1968.

He was united in marriage to Julie Peters on May 31, 1969, in Sibley, Iowa.  He and Julie made their home in Sibley, where Don worked for AMPI.  He later went to work for International Paper until his retirement.  In 2000, they moved to Milford, IA, where Don loved to fish, drink a few beers while grilling, and spend time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed cooking and baking.  He loved calling his family on their birthdays and singing his infamous birthday song. In 2011, they moved to Le Mars to be closer to their children and families. Don drove S.R.T.S. bus in LeMars for 5 years. Julie passed away on September 16, 2020.

Survivors include his 4 children: Tony Rahfaldt of Le Mars, IA, Kris Steed of Omaha, NE, Tiffany (Damon) Clayborne of Sioux City, IA, and Joe Rahfaldt of Sioux City, IA; 6 grandchildren: Austin Pohlen (Julia Brown), Zarek (Margo) Steed, Deion Clayborne (Carson Cameron),Kobe Clayborne(Brooke Wilmesherr),Kason Clayborne, and Briggs Rahfaldt; his brother, Jim Rahfaldt of Leawood, KS; and his sister in law, Helen Rahfaldt of Sibley, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Julie Rahfaldt; and a brother, Doug Rahfaldt.
