A Graveside Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden, Iowa.

Doris Ann Merrick (Demotts) was born one of 8 children to Henry and Ida (Bol) Demotts on December 1, 1930, in Baldwin, Wisconsin. She was the first of 8 children to graduate from High School. Doris left this world on May 15, 2023, at 92 years young. She fought a hard and long battle with her health until Our Lord God called her home. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. As well as a dear friend to many who knew her.

She overcame many hardships and trials in her life. She taught her children to be kind, strong, loving, caring and giving people. She will be sadly missed by her children, Sandra Henry, Linda Gjesdal, Diane (Joe) Hendricks, Alan Peterson, and Sharon (Kimm) Nielsen; and daughter in law, Colette Myers; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ruth, and Marg, and her beloved son, Duane Leslie Myers.

A Memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, SD.
