Dorothy Siebens, 88 of Akron, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Akron. Private Family burial will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Akron. Visitation with the family present will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron. Dorothy Mae Weidenfeller was born on April 6, 1935 in Akron, Iowa to Anthony and Clara (Kapfer) Weidenfeller. She grew up in Akron and graduated from Akron High School in 1953. Dorothy worked at the theatre in Akron taking tickets and ushering during her high school years. After graduation she worked as an accountant at Dirks Motor in Akron.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Marvin Siebens on December 6, 1954 at St. Patrick's rectory in Akron. They made their home on a farm in rural Akron where they raised 11 children together. Dorothy loved to garden; she grew lots of vegetables and many beautiful flowers. She enjoyed baking, especially cookies for her family. She also raised chickens for many years. She loved to play assorted card games, put jigsaw puzzles together, and complete word seeks & crossword puzzles. Dorothy was a long-time member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Akron. Marvin passed away in 2005 and Dorothy later moved into Akron.

Dorothy is survived by 10 children: Carolyn (Garry) Goebel of Sioux City, IA, Robert (Chongmi) Siebens of Springfield, VA, Alan (Linda) Siebens of Oskaloosa, IA, Beverly Siebens of Akron, IA, Gerald (Antoinette) Siebens of Safety Harbor, FL, Sharon (Frederick) Tongol of Colorado Springs, CO, Randy (Rachael) Siebens of Delphi, IN, James Siebens of Akron, IA, Susan (Michael) McCulley of Sioux City, IA, and Julie Siebens of Arlington, VA; daughter in law, Patricia Siebens of Le Mars, IA; 17 grandchildren: Natalie Siebens, Christopher Siebens, Timothy Siebens, John Siebens, Luke Siebens, Josiah Siebens, Anthony Siebens, Michael Siebens, Lynnzee Siebens, Shaylee Siebens, Hugo Siebens, Antonio Siebens, Airalynn Siebens, Lucas Siebens, Travis Siebens, Megan (Kyle) Hunter, and Hannah Siebens; 5 great grandchildren: Carter, Grace, Mayz, Freya, Austin, and one on the way; nephew, Leonard (Kim) Henke; niece, Elizabeth 'Liz' Gallentine; and other extended relatives.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; son, Michael Siebens; sister, Lois Marie (William "Buzz") Henke; brother, Leo Weidenfeller; and nephew, William "Billy" Henke.
