Edward "Eddie" Beeck, 81, of Akron, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at a Sioux City, Iowa hospital.

Visitation with the family present will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron, Iowa. Private family interment with military honors provided by the Hoschler American Legion Post 186 of Akron and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 915 of Elk Point, South Dakota, will be at Union Creek Lutheran Cemetery, rural Akron, Iowa. Edward Frank Beeck, the son of Edward Fred and Mary Belle (Heubrock) Beeck, was born on March 8, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Westfield (IA) High School in 1960. After graduation, he attended barber school in Sioux City and graduated from Sioux City Barber College. He barbered in Sioux City, Le Mars, and Akron.

He was united in marriage to Diana D. Heyl on November 10, 1963, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron.

He was drafted into the United States Army in October of 1966. He completed basic training in Ft. Bliss, Texas before serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Vietnam from March of 1967 to March of 1968. After returning to the states, he was stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma where he was honorably discharged in October of 1968.

After returning to the area, he drove truck for several businesses in Akron, Iowa, before going to work for Mid-American Dairymen, Inc. in Sioux City, Iowa. He drove a semi-trailer, hauling milk until his retirement from there.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron. He was also a member of the Hoschler American Legion Post 186 of Akron and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 915 of Elk Point. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and road trips with their Vette.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; his siblings: Mary (Myron) Sargisson, Michael Beeck (Bobby Kemberlin), Steven (Pam) Beeck, and Linda (Darin) Anderson; a sister in law, Anne Gruss Beeck; a step brother, Brian (Harriett) Turner; a step sister, Melissa Turner; and several "special" cousins, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, friends, and faithful companion, "Tripp".

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Thomas (Eve) Beeck, and David Beeck; his step father, Reuben Turner; his step sister, Maida Turner Graham; his grandparents: Chris and Meta Beeck and Frank and Belle Heubrock; his father and mother in law, Clark and Otilda "Tillie" Heyl; a brother in law, Jerome (Lynn) Heyl; and many "special" aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and several family pets.

He will be remembered for all the times spent with family and friends.
