Elizabeth Suzanne Graham, the daughter of Donald and Mildred (Welch) Graham, was born on December 23, 1925, in Cherokee, Iowa. She grew up in Quimby, Iowa, where she attended school and graduated from Quimby High School in 1943. She then attended business school in Sioux City, Iowa, for a short time.

She was united to Ivan Arthur Finzen II on September 14, 1946, in Cherokee, Iowa. They lived on a farm in Plymouth County, Iowa, for a year before moving to a farm in Union County, South Dakota. They were there for 4 years before moving back to Plymouth County. Beth helped on the farm and was a homemaker for her family. Ivan passed away unexpectedly on August 16, 1980.

After her youngest was grown, she went to work at the Akron Care Center. She went back to college at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City where she earned her dietician degree. She worked at the Care Center for 18 years. Later, she worked as a bookkeeper for Finzen Piggery for 16 years before retiring.

Beth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and was active in W.E.L.C.A. She and Ivan were active in the YoMaCo’s group at the church. She was an active member of The Rural Home Culture Club, too. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and cooking. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved watching them participate in their activities.

Survivors include her children: Suzanne Lundgren of Sioux City, IA, Daughter-in-law Nancy (Arthur deceased) Finzen of Holland, MN, Ronald (Marcia) Finzen of Westfield, IA, Jeannette (Jeff) Davis of Le Mars, IA, and Matthew (Marlys) Finzen of Westfield, IA; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a brother, David Graham of Cherokee, IA, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan Finzen II; her son, Ivan Finzen III; her sister, Bonita (Richard) Rosga; and her sister in law, Susan Graham.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons, and honorary casket bearers will be her granddaughters.
