Eugene "Gus" Moran , 91, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2019 at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars. Reverend Bruce Lawler will celebrate Mass. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home. There will be a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary and a 4 ^th Degree Chalice Service. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Eugene Michael Moran was born February 20, 1928 in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Hugh and Ada (O'Brien) Moran. He attended school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Central High School.

Following high school, Gus went to work for Cudahy Packing House in Sioux City.

He was united in marriage to Donna Hanno on September 28, 1949.

After working at the packing house, he went to work in operations at Scared Heart Hospital in Le Mars. He then went to work as Operations Director for the hospital in Algona, Iowa. After the new hospital was built in Le Mars, he returned and worked as Operations Director until his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked for Walmart in Le Mars for over 20 years.

Gus was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars. He was a 3rd Degree Member of Council 1466 of the Knights of Columbus and a 4 ^th Degree Member of McGiveny Assembly 3088 of the Knights of Columbus in Le Mars. Gus was an avid bike rider and he had the opportunity to ride in R.A.G.B.R.A.I. for over 20 years. He volunteered for many years with the Plymouth County Museum. He also enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Le Mars, Iowa; his children: Tom (Lilly) Moran of Kennewick, WA, Marilyn (Dave) Wells of Le Mars, IA, Dan Moran of Indianola, IA, and Lisa Moran of North Sioux City, SD; 4 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his brother: Francis (Marcene) Moran of Sioux Falls, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Ada Moran; a daughter in infancy: Julie Moran; and two sisters: Alicia Johnson and Mary G. Moran.
