Frances "Fran" Miller-Huebner, 91, of Akron, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at her home in Akron.

Frances E. Erickson, the daughter of Alvin and Dolores (Hanson) Erickson, was born on a farm near Big Springs, South Dakota.  She attended country school in Lincoln and Union County, South Dakota.  She attended high school in Alcester, South Dakota before moving to Westfield, Iowa.  She graduated from Westfield High School in 1949.

She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Miller on January 15, 1950, in Akron, Iowa.  They made their home in Akron their entire married life. They raised four children, Terry, Deborah, Patty, and Cindy. They were married over 50 years until his passing on September 10, 2001.  She married Richard Huebner on May 13, 2004.  They wintered in Texas for six years and just enjoyed sharing things together.

Fran worked at Selly's Café and Thorson Drug.  Later, she worked at the Akron Register Tribune for over 20 years.

She was active at Wesley United Methodist Church for many years.  She served in several office positions at the church.  She also taught Sunday school and bible school.  She kept busy raising her children, gardening, and doing dairy chores for friends, milking cows.  She also enjoyed reading, typing, camping, and dancing.  Trying her luck at the casino, and playing cards, especially pinochle and 500, were also her joys.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Huebner of Akron; her children: Terry (Julie) Miller of Hawarden, IA, Deborah (Terry) Singer of Le Mars, IA, and Patty (Arden) Heeren of Akron; a son in law, Mark (Deb) Olson of Akron, IA; 9 grandchildren: Amy (Jimmie) Cason, Michael (Carolyn Puhl) Miller, Dana (Mike) DeBuhr, Craig (Elizabeth) Singer, James (Mandy) Heeren, Jesse Heeren, Adrienne (Anthony) Pederson, Ashley (Josh) Johnson, and Amanda (Justin) Kyte; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William "Bill" Miller; her daughter, Cindy Olson; her brothers, Arnold Erickson and Donald Erickson; and two sisters, Marie Larson-Kosab and Gertrude Schutte-Forbes.
