Gladys 'Sue' Maack, 81, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Accura Healthcare of Le Mars surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Reverend Steven Broers from St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time and following and the service during a time of lunch and fellowship, all at the funeral home. Gladys Sue Stusse, the daughter of Walter and Agnes (Walston) Stusse, was born on November 28, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up near Hinton, Iowa, where she attended country school. She began high school in Le Mars before graduating from Hinton High School.

She was united in marriage to Lanny Maack on September 28, 1963, at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, Iowa. Sue was a homemaker for her family, something she deeply enjoyed. Lanny passed away on June 24, 1999. In 2011, she moved to Arizona, where she lived for a few years before returning to Le Mars.

Sue enjoyed listening to music, dancing, fishing, and cooking. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends. She loved attending all the activities of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her 4 daughters: Dawn Otto of Le Mars, IA, Lisa Mohning of Coolidge, AZ, Robin (Jim) Sutter of Meriden, IA, and Nicole (Adam) Nelson of Sioux Falls, SD; her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Megan Hansen, Travis (Serena) Hansen and their children, Landrik, Lyla, and Linnie, Jessica Mohning, Trent (Mikayla) Sutter, Norah Nelson, and Miles Nelson; her sisters: Betti (Ken) Spies of Hinton, IA, and Jean (Bob) Motz of Sioux City, IA; her brother: Darrell (Venita) Stusse of Sioux City, IA; a sister in law: Lynn Thompson of Kansas City, MO; a brother in law: Al Hutton of Sioux City, IA; and special friends: Stacey, Emily and Oakleigh, many nieces, nephews, and grand puppies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Agnes Stusse; her father and mother in law, Ernest an Evelyn Maack; her husband, Lanny Maack; her infant son, Scott; her son in law, Mark Otto; her sister, Joyce Hutton; and two in laws, Larry Thompson and Pauline (Kenneth) Lee.
