Henrietta 'Hank' Farmer, 94, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Stonebridge Suites in Le Mars, Iowa.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Carmel Reformed Church, rural Rock Valley, Iowa. Reverend Ron Boersema will officiate. There will be a Prayer Service at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars with burial to follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.
Henrietta 'Hank' Langstraat, the daughter of Henry and Wilhelmina (Cleveringa) Langstraat, was born on November 12, 1930, near Rock Valley, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Carmel Reformed Church. She attended country school near Rock Valley and later high school in Sioux Center, where she graduated.
Hank went to work for Well's Dairy in Le Mars in October of 1955. She worked as a receptionist and bookkeeper for over 34 years.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Farmer on October 20, 1973, at the Little Chapel in Sioux Center, Iowa. Kenneth passed away on March 28, 2011.
She was a member of the Carmel Reformed Church. She enjoyed doing crafts, reading, playing cards, and traveling. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling. She and Ken also enjoyed golfing for several years.
Survivors include her 5 step children: Larry (Carol) Farmer of Westfield, IA, Kathleen 'Kate' Kruse of Le Mars, IA, Richard (Lyla) Farmer of Craig, IA, Peggy Olson of Le Mars, and Michael Farmer of Le Mars, IA; her sister in law, Marcella Langstraat of Sioux Center, IA; several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Farmer; her brothers, Clarence Langstraat, Fred Langstraat, and Bill Langstraat; and her sisters, Tracy Niemeyer, Edna Schelling, and Nelvina Vander Pol.
