James 'Jim' Anderson, 75 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at his home.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Burial will be at a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation with the family present will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .
James Warren Anderson was born on August 21, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa to Alfred and Bernice (Roe) Anderson. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated in 1968 from Central High School. Jim then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Germany. After his honorable discharge he moved back to Sioux City.
Jim's work history primarily consisted of over the road trucking. He first worked for his dad at Anderson Fire Company (later known as Sigler Fire Equipment Company) before driving for Jacobsma Transport in Sioux City. Jim moved to Le Mars in the mid 90's and he then began his 24-year employment with Schuster Trucking. He enjoyed his time on the road and especially enjoyed his drives into Canada.
Jim enjoyed playing golf, watching college basketball, Vikings and Broncos football, and playing guitar. In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling to various van inns in the Midwest as part of EZ Life Van Club and going country line dancing.
Jim loved being a grandfather and spoiling his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and loved sharing a good joke.
Jim is survived by his children: Beau (Amy) Anderson, Collin Anderson, and Bryer Anderson; grandchildren: Hailey, Brody, Caleb, Madison, Leah, Jaxon, Mallory, Owen, Grasyn, and Kaine; niece, Faith (Cory) Whaley; brother in law, Don Kerr; and other extended relatives.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sandra (Anderson) Willems.
