James C. Epling , 71, of Brooklyn Park, MN, formerly of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in Brooklyn Park.

Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Wasmer American Legion Post 241 in Le Mars. Reverend Mike Kumm will officiate. Burial with military honors provided by the Wasmer American Legion Post 241 in Le Mars will be in the Veteran's Section at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.

James Carl Epling was born April 18, 1946 in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Mrs. Idabelle Epling.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on August 7, 1964. He served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on July 26, 1968. Following his discharge, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He worked as a maintenance technician at several companies. His last job was at Bethany Nursing Home. He said it was the most rewarding job he ever had.

He always had a sense of humor and helped other people when he could. He enjoyed walleye fishing and just being outdoors.
