James Moir, 87 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Accura HealthCare of Le Mars.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at All Saints Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars, Iowa. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., all on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. James Moir was born on June 11, 1936 in Le Mars to Earl and Margaret (Weidenfeller) Moir. Jim attended Le Mars Community Schools; he later transferred to and graduated from Gehlen Catholic High School.

Jim was united in marriage to Margaret Anne Hall on January 3, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars.  They lived in Scottsbluff, Nebraska until moving to Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1963.  They moved back to Le Mars in 1976.

Jim and Margie loved dancing and spending time at their cabin in Northwestern Minnesota.

Jim is survived by his 4 children: Matthew (Regan) Moir of Kodiak, AK, Anne (Brad) Lubben of Coon Rapids, MN, Amy (Pat) Haun of Camarillo, CA, and Mark (Kate) Moir of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; 16 grandchildren: Madison Moir, Morgan Moir, Jade Colmyer, Joshua Lubben, Megan Mack, Lindsey Howe, Emilio Galan, Marta Galan, Brad Haun, Lindsey Moir, Rebecca Moir, Eric Havey, Amy Moir, Ryan Havey, Mary Moir, and Thomas Havey; 15 great grandchildren; siblings: Steve (Pat) Moir and Ann (Ron) Nitzschke; several nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Margie (December 15, 2020); his parents; parents in law, V.F. and Martha Hall; and brother, Michael Moir.
