Janeen Reuter, 76, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Orange City Area Health System in Orange City, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, at All Saints Catholic Parish - St. Joseph Church in Le Mars. Father Doug Klein will celebrate Mass with Priests from the Sioux City Catholic Diocese concelebrating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at All Saints Catholic Parish - St. Joseph Church. There will be a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Rosary at 3:45 p.m. and a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com. .
Janeen Ann Reuter, the daughter of Jack and DeLores (Schmitt) Mathers, was born on May 26, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa and grew up in Kingsley, Iowa. When she was a freshman, she moved with her family to Le Mars where she graduated in 1967 from Le Mars Community.
She was united in marriage to Terry Reuter on May 31, 1969, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. Janeen worked at Westmar College, First National Bank, and the Credit Union in Le Mars before beginning her 31-year career as the business office manager for St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Janeen was a devoted member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and the Floyd Valley Healthcare Auxiliary, where she was recently recognized for 250 hours of volunteer service. She also volunteered for many years at the Plymouth County Fair.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, volleyball, and a competitive game of poker. A loyal sports fan, she especially loved watching her grandchildren's activities. Janeen cherished life on the farm and took great pride in being a farm wife.
Survivors include her husband, Terry of Le Mars; children: Eric (Stacy) Reuter of Le Mars, Matt (Sandy) Reuter of Le Mars, Brenda (Ty) Thomas of Minneapolis, MN, and Tony (Kelsie) Reuter of Minneapolis, MN; 11 grandchildren: Paris, Luke, Landen, Riley, Jordan, Ashton, Deontā, Dason, Talen, Sloane, and Beau; her sister: Marleen (Wayne) Schipper of Le Mars; her in-laws: Theresa Reuter, Cathy (Keith) Popp, Steve (Elizabeth) Reuter, Alice (Glenn) Ruhland, Ruth Padgett, Dave (Sandy) Reuter, Doug (Monica) Reuter, and Patti Georg; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and DeLores (Schmitt) Mathers; her father and mother-in-law, Roger and Ione (Pashion) Reuter; her brother, Dennis Mathers; and her in-laws, Jim Reuter, Ron (Meredith) Reuter, Bob Reuter, and granddog, Kirby.
