Jean Huisman , 75, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars.

Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Reverend Christian Meier from St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars will officiate.  Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.  Visitation with the family present will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time and following the service during a time a lunch and fellowship at the funeral home.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Jean Ann Huisman, the daughter of Herman and Beatrice (Untiedt) Huisman, was born on July 22, 1947, in Luverne, Minnesota.  She grew up and attended school in Hills, Minnesota.

In 1965, she moved to Le Mars, Iowa.  She went to work for K-Products in Orange City, Iowa.  She was with the company for 22 years.  Later, she did housekeeping in Le Mars until her retirement.  In February of 2022, she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars.  She enjoyed crocheting, adult coloring books, and playing bingo.  She also enjoyed feeding birds and being outdoors.

She will be greatly missed by her siblings: Donna Hensel of Sauk Center, MN, Dale (Patty) Huisman of Le Mars, IA, Kristy Pierson of Le Mars, IA, and Karla Mott of Le Mars, IA; her nieces and nephews: William "Bill" (Autumn) Hensel, Julie (Nathan) Burmeister, Gretchen (Anthony) Schnoes, Sara (David) Trombley, Virginia (Trent) Hanner, David (Ana) Mott, Bradley Huisman, Kailyn Huisman, and Amanda Pierson; and several great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Beatrice Huisman; her brother, Brian Huisman; her sister, Mary (Mark) Kuester; and two brothers in law, James Hensel and LaDon Mott.
