Jeanette Jensen, 80, of Merrill, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Johnson Township, rural Merrill, Iowa. Reverend Dr. Jean Ziettlow will officiate. Burial will follow at St Paul Lutheran Cemetery – Johnson Township, rural Merrill, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials can be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church – Johnson Township and the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.
Jeanette Kay Oltmanns, the daughter of J. Henry and Amanda (Popken) Oltmanns, was born on February 28, 1946, in Le Mars, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church – Grant Township, rural Le Mars, Iowa. She graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1964. Following high school, she attended Tyler's Beauty School in Le Mars.
She was united in marriage to Randall H. Jensen on September 18, 1966, at Christ Lutheran Church – Grant Township, before Randall went to Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, they made their home on the Jensen Century Farm near Merrill. She worked for Harker's Distribution in Le Mars for over 25 years until its closing.
Jeanette was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Johnson Township, where she played the organ and piano until 2020, when she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars. She was also a Sunday school teacher to her grandsons and great niece and nephews and special friends. Jeanette loved music. She played for many weddings, funerals, churches, and nursing homes throughout her lifetime. She also enjoyed antiques, mowing, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Ann (Alex) Crosgrove and their son, Gage, and Jaclynn (Kyle) Schlesser and their children, Rhett and Jensen; a daughter in law, Jodi Jensen and her daughter, Kayla (Sabrina); a sister, Verda Koerselman; sisters in law, Wanda Oltmanns, Karen Hartman, and Sharon Junck; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Randall Jensen; son, Rick Jensen; father and mother in law, Raymond and Esther Jensen; brothers: Wendell Oltmanns, Mert (JoAnn) Oltmanns, and Arlan Oltmanns; brothers in law, Kenny Junck and Cliff Koerselman; and nephew, Kevin Oltmanns.
Jeanette's family would like to thank the staff and residents of the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars for becoming her family for the past 5 years.
