Norma Jeanne Francksen was born on March 12, 1946 to Werner and Margaret (Trometer) Francksen in Le Mars, Iowa. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church in Akron, Iowa on March 31, 1946. Jeanne attended Liberty Consolidated School until 1959. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill, Iowa on April 10, 1960. She attended and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1963. She then worked for a short time at Postal Finance and Data Automation in Sioux City, Iowa. On August 15, 1970 Jeanne was united in marriage to Ronald DeWayne Schultz at St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill, Iowa. They made their home in Merrill for a short time before they bought a home in Luton, Iowa in 1971. In December of 1978, their family moved to an acreage in rural Merrill, Iowa. Jeanne joyfully loved staying home with their three children: Bradley, Jodi, and Tami. After their children were older, Jeanne went back to work at MJM Design and MidAmerican. Jeanne retired from MidAmerican in 2006. With great joy and gratitude, Ron and Jeanne celebrated their 50 anniversary this August with family.
Jeanne's favorite time was spent with her beloved grandchildren. She loved hosting a 'cousin camp' for them and poured into each one so uniquely. She loved spending time with family in the little and big moments and they always took a family camping trip every summer. Jeanne loved cooking, baking, hosting friends and family, vacation with Ron, sewing projects, gardening, and flowers. She was active as a volunteer for Boy Scouts and Meals on Wheels. She found great joy serving in Sunday School, VBS, Bible Study Fellowship, and other church activities, especially those for children. Her legacy will be remembered for one that prioritized God above all else and she had a servant's heart and passion in all she did. She built her life on these verses: Prov 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Ron Schultz; daughters: Jodi (Michael) Van Leeuwen and their children, Anna, Luke, Katelyn, and Carter, all of Sioux Falls, SD, and Tami (Kyle) Mullenix and their children, Tyler, Rebekah, and Brandon all of Sergeant Bluff, IA; siblings: Marlin (Vergie) Francksen of Cape Fair, MO, Larry Francksen of Merrill, IA, Bette (Ronald) Miller of Merrill, IA, Vicki (Bob) Schwalbach of Gilman, IA; siblings in law: La Vern (LeRoy) Nelson of Flensberg, MN, John (Sandee) Schultz of Eau Claire, WI, Lynn Schultz of Center City, MN, Cindy Kircher of Burtrum, MN, Timothy (Peter O'toole) Schultz of St. Paul, MN, and Charlie (Jill) Schultz of Swanville, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
