Obituary

Jenieta Campbell, 96, of Le Mars, Iowa, died on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars. Father Doug Klein will celebrate Mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars, Iowa. There will be a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Rosary at 4:00 p.m. followed by visitation with the family present at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Jenieta Marie Lang, the daughter of Joseph and Oliva (Bunkers) Lang, was born on May 11, 1929, in Merrill, Iowa. In 1930, she and her family moved to Remsen, where she attended school. She graduated from Remsen St. Mary's High School in 1947. She attended St. Joseph School of Nursing in Sioux City and received her RN degree in 1950.

She was united in marriage to Clarence Campbell on June 4, 1951, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, Iowa. The couple made their home in Le Mars. Jenieta worked as an RN for Sacred Heart Hospital and later for Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars until retiring in 1993 after 42 years of service. Clarence passed away on September 26, 1980.

She was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and a former member of Christian Mothers. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, and Mexico. Through the years, she also enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle, golfing, reading, and tending to her flowers. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great great granddaughter.

Survivors include her children: Mary Kay Dreckman, Bob (Lisa) Campbell, and Janet (Michael) Sorensen, all of Le Mars, IA; her grandchildren: Cheri (Tim) Brunsting, Tony (Tia) Dreckman, Christina (Steve) Nash, Eric Sorensen, Corrin Sorensen, Zachary Sorensen; great grandchildren: Chandler (Taylor) Brunsting and their daughter, Layken, Logan (Tori) Brunsting, Dayton Brunsting (fiancé, Anna), Sidney Nash, Alexis Nash, and Kayl Dreckman; step grandchildren: Jared (Rachel) Morris and their children, Hudson and Milo, Trevor Morris, and Jenna Morris; a brother: Gerald Lang of San Mateo, CA; her sisters in law, Mary Francis Campbell of Le Mars, IA, and Irene Lang of Ames, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; a daughter in infancy, Maria Campbell; daughter in law, Debra Campbell; and a son in law, Michael Dreckman; and a brother, Richard Lang.
