Jon Foster, 74 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Accura Healthcare of Le Mars, Iowa.

Jon Stuart Foster was born in Keokuk, Iowa to Billy and Ruth (Giles) Foster. Jon's father passed away at a young age and their family then moved to Burlington, Iowa. He attended school in Burlington and graduated from high school in 1963.  Jon was united in marriage to Connie Schach in Burlington in 1963. They had two children: Billy and Dana, and they later divorced.

Jon enlisted in the United States Army in 1963. He was stationed in Korea during the Korean Conflict and served multiple tours in Vietnam. Jon and his family were stationed all over the world during his 20 year military career. He was honorably discharged and retired in 1983.

Jon then moved to Iowa City, Iowa where he worked full time as a bar manager for the Iowa Athletics Club. He then moved to an acreage in Hinton, Iowa and later into Le Mars.  There he worked part time for the Le Mars Flower House delivering flowers for several years.

Jon was an avid Cubs fan. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, specifically at Perera's Lounge in Merrill, Iowa, and going for drives through the Loess Hills. Jon loved collecting vintage beer collectibles and commemoratives – he would buy and sell various items at flea markets and online.

Jon is survived by his children: Billy Foster of Key West, Florida, and Dana (Bo) Hunter of Burlington, Iowa; grandchildren: Joshua Waters of Chicago, Illinois, and Rachael Waters of Webster City, Iowa; sister, Deborah (Dennis) Switzer of Nevada, Iowa; nephew, Collin (Jennifer) Switzer of Nevada, Iowa; and other extended relatives.

Jon is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers: Kurt and David Foster.
