Jon Robert Jacobs was born on March 13, 1966 in Akron, Iowa to Terry and Sharon (Fletcher) Jacobs. Their family moved to Minneapolis, MN when Jon was young. Jon was raised Lutheran and attended services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron when visiting family during his youth as well as with his daughter. He grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School in 1984.

After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy. After being discharged from the military, Jon moved to Colorado. He later moved back to Iowa, working for a short time in Sioux City while also taking classes at a technical school. Jon then began working for Premier Communications where he was employed for over 12 years. Jon lived on the Fletcher family acreage before moving into town; Jon really enjoyed living and working in the Akron community.

Jon enjoyed watching all the latest movies and listening to heavy metal music. He especially loved spending time with his dog Lady. He loved watching sports, specifically the Minnesota Wild hockey team. Jon played hockey in high school and occasionally enjoyed playing golf.

Jon loved spending quality time with his family. Their family took some fun trips to Colorado to ski during his childhood years. Jon and his family, especially his daughter Bella, took several trips to the zoo, Mall of America, and Disney World. A favorite memory of his was setting off fireworks on the family acreage every fourth of July. More recently one of their favorite things was ordering a pizza and spending time together. He especially loved watching Bella grow up. They made some really great memories when Bella visited Akron.

Jon was an organ donor and his generosity will save over one hundred lives.

Jon is survived by his daughter, Isabella 'Bella' Jacobs of Plymouth, MN; mother, Sharon (Marlyn) Jackson of Plymouth, MN; father, Terry Jacobs of Edina, MN; brother, Thomas (Kelly) Jacobs and his children: Sloan and Flynn; maternal aunts: Nancy Enstrom and Gloria Fletcher; paternal aunt, Julie Jacobs; other extended relatives and friends.
