Joy Nukuto , 36, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars.

Visitation with the family present will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on October 24, 2020 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Burial will be at a later date in Micronesia.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Joy Nukuto was born March 26, 1984 in Chuuk, Micronesia, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine ( Innocenti ) Nukuto .  She grew up in Micronesia where she attended high school and later college.

In 2007, she moved to the United States and lived in Dubuque, Iowa.  In 2009, she moved to Le Mars.  She worked at Holiday Inn Express and later at Wells Enterprises.  Following an accident in 2018, she went to work part time at Wells.  Most recently, she was working for Building Blocks Daycare in Le Mars.

Joy enjoyed shopping, site seeing, and cooking.  Most of all, she loved the time spent with her 3 children.

Survivors include her 3 children, Mi'Ana , Christina, and Kahavonie , all at home; her siblings: Epi Joseph of Guam, Florentina (Nick) Sipenuk of Merrill, IA, Francella (John Weito ) Nukuto of Merrill, IA, Jesse Nukuto of Japan, Lora (D.J.) Bessy of Micronesia, Melinda (Vincent) Soumetaw of Micronesia, Jonas (Amy) Nukuto of Micronesia, Juanita (Dustin) Nukuto - Walker of Rushville, IL, and Junito (Gwen) Innocenti of Saipan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Catherine Nukuto ; and her sister, Melissa Nukuto .
