Judith Schmidt, 78, of Le Mars, Iowa, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Kingsley Specialty Care in Kingsley, Iowa.

Memorial Service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Reverend Steven Broers from St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars will officiate. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. until service time and following the service during a light reception, all at the funeral home. Judith Rae Swenson, the daughter of Isaac and Bette (Baber) Swenson, was born on August 14, 1947, in Ute, Iowa. She grew up in Soldier, Iowa, where she attended school and graduated from high school. After high school, she moved to Cherokee, Iowa, where she worked various jobs.

She was united in marriage to Dennis Schmidt on August 23, 1981. They lived in Cherokee for a short time before moving to Le Mars. Judith worked as a C.N.A., first at Plymouth Manor Care Center and later for Floyd Valley Healthcare until her retirement in 2012. Dennis passed away on September 5, 2019. Judith continued to make her home in Le Mars.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. She enjoyed traveling to visit her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise 'DD' (Greg) Gutierrez of Sioux City, Iowa, and their children, Jane and Josie; and two nephews: Michael (Katie) Heinen and their children, Brooklyn and Morgan, and David (Melisa) Heinen and their son, Alexander.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Bette Swenson; and her sister, Linda Heinen.
