Julie Anne Rahfaldt , 70, of Le Mars, Iowa, formerly of Sibley, Iowa, passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

Julie Anne Rahfaldt was born August 25, 1950 in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of George and Edith (Piscator) Peters.  She grew up near Appleton, Minnesota and later near Clarkfield, Minnesota.  In 1962, she and her family moved to Little Rock, Iowa.  She graduated from Little Rock High School in 1968.

Julie was united in marriage to Don Rahfaldt on May 31, 1969 in Sibley, Iowa.  She and Don made their home in Sibley where Julie worked as a CNA for both nursing homes.  Following her retirement, she served as a caretaker in various settings.  Julie truly enjoyed taking care of others.  In 2000, they moved to Pelican Ridge near Okoboji, Iowa where Julie loved spending time near the water.  In 2011, they moved to Le Mars to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Julie enjoyed decorating her home, baking and cooking, making crafts, painting rocks, and bird watching.  She loved spending time outside landscaping and growing her plants and flowers and was even selected to be in the annual Tour of Gardens.  Most of all, she loved the time spent with her grandchildren.  Her entire world revolved around her family.  She loved watching her grandchildren participate in all of their school and sporting events.  The grandchildren relished every opportunity spent with grandma and she would drop everything to be with them.  She was often referred to as their "hero."   She was intentional and successful in making so many memories with the grandchildren throughout the years.  Julie was the most selfless person you would ever meet.

Survivors include her husband, Don of Le Mars, IA; 4 children: Tony Rahfaldt of Le Mars, IA, Kris Steed of Omaha, NE, Tiffany (Damon) Clayborne of Sioux City, IA, and Joe Rahfaldt (fiancé Ronika Walker) of Sioux City, Iowa; 10 grandchildren: Austin Pohlen, Zarek Steed, Deion Clayborne, Kobe Clayborne, Kason Clayborne, Noah Walker, Briggs Rahfaldt, Lynsi Ell, BJ Steed, and Jessi Corrick; and her faithful companion, "Mulligan" who was always by her side.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Edith Peters; two brothers: Sydney Peters in infancy and Larry Peters; a sister: Joyce McMurray; and her stubborn bulldog, "Brutus".
