June Dowling, 60 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron, Iowa. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with Rexwinkel Funeral Home of Akron. June LaVerne Dowling was born on June 20, 1964 in Akron, Iowa to Hugh and LaVerne (Anderson) Dowling. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Akron High School in 1983. June then attended Sioux Empire College in Hawarden, Iowa for two years. June worked for a short time as a nurses aide, and at a fitness club and day care center. In 1990, June became a resident of the Pride Group in Le Mars. She then began working at the Life Skills Training Center with the Pride Group and worked there until her retirement in 2021. June was able to move into her own apartment in Le Mars in 1992 where she resided until her passing.

June enjoyed watching old TV shows and chatting on the phone with her family and friends. She loved going shopping for a good sale or bargain and eating at her favorite restaurants. June was very social, making friends wherever she went, especially those she made at businesses around Le Mars. Her favorite time was spent with her family and friends: whether visiting her brother in Wisconsin, seeing her nieces and nephews, or spending time with the other residents and staff from the Pride Group.

June is survived by her brother, Richard (Paula) Dowling; sister, Ramona (Dan) Liston; sister in law, Carole Dowling; nieces and nephews: Julie Swenson, Matt Dowling, Jennifer Bultman, Sarah Liston, Joanna Bultman, Jeff Bultman, Crisena Liston, Tom Dowling, Jim Dowling, Tony LIston, John Dowling, and Bobby Dowling; and other extended family.

June is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and LaVerne Dowling; siblings: John Dowling, Phil Dowling, Ruth Ann (Denny) Bultman, and Harold Dowling; and sister in law, Sharon 'Sherry' Olander.
