Karen Breuer, 82, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Reverend Christian Meier will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.
Karen Jean Breuer, the daughter of Wayne and Opal (McCammond) Schipper, was born on July 13, 1941, in Le Mars, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. She attended school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1959. After graduation, she started working at Gus Pech Manufacturing Company in Le Mars as a secretary. She was employed with them for over 50 years.
She was united in marriage to Ronald Breuer on June 9, 1961, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Ron passed away February 18, 2002. For the past four years, she has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.
Karen was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars where she was active in the ladies aide for many years. She was also a member of the Wasmer American Legion Auxiliary Post 241 of Le Mars. Her favorite activities were playing bingo and trying her luck at the casinos.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Breuer; her parents, Wayne and Opal Schipper; 3 brothers and their wives: Lee and Kathryn Schipper, Glenn and Betty Schipper (Wells), and Wendall and Patty Schipper; her father and mother-in-law, Henry and Arvilla Breuer; a brother-in-law and his wife, Marvin and Marcella Breuer; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Dorothy and Willis Van Kley.
