Kashe Ostermyer, 7 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on December 25, 2025 due to complications from cerebral palsy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Kashe Philip Ostermyer was born on October 25, 2018 at Unity Point Health in Sioux City, Iowa to Adam Ostermyer and Angela Horn. Kashe lived in Akron, attending Akron Community Preschool. They later moved to Le Mars where he attended preschool, kindergarten, and was currently in First Grade at Clark Elementary.

Kashe loved going to school; he enjoyed being around his friends and classmates. Kashe was a lively and vibrant spirit; even though his verbal ability was limited, he made an impression on all those around him. He loved watching his brothers wrestle and watching football games on TV. He preferred to spend time outside; he loved boating and the faster the boat went, the better. He enjoyed swimming and being in the pool. He played adaptive baseball at the YMCA and liked riding his adaptive bicycle outdoors. He enjoyed just sitting outside, spending time with family and sitting with the family dog.

Kashe loved Christmas, especially because of all the beautiful, twinkling lights that shimmer through the holiday season. Kashe was such a bright light to his family and those around him. His light now shines on through the selfless gift of organ and tissue donation. His memory will live on through the recipients and their families.

Kashe is survived by his mother, Angela Rae Horn; his father, Adam Ostermyer; his siblings: Kaden Ostermyer, Logan (Becca) Ostermyer, Lawson Ostermyer, Emily Small, Tylen Ostermyer, Skyler Horn, Sadie Horn, Myles Ostermyer, and Tysen Saatmann; maternal grandpa, Kevin Horn; paternal grandpa, Lonnie Ostermyer; paternal grandma, Pat Buys; aunts and uncles: Abby Bringman, Justin (Geralynn) Horn, James (Krista) Vanderhelm, Kelvin (Melissa) Horn, Wendy Steuck, Jennifer (Chris) Van Roekel, Kelley Bourassa, and Michael (Tara) Shannon; nephew, Hudson Ostermyer; many cousins and other extended relatives.

Kashe is preceded in death by his maternal grandma, Candy Horn; uncles: Aaron Horn and Timothy Langley; aunt, Angela Ostermyer; great grandparents, Cecil and Betty Horn; great uncle Butch; and great aunts: Tammy Buys and Fran.
