Katharine L. Aalseth, 53 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Floyd Valley HealthCare of Le Mars.

A Memorial Service will be at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation with family present will begin at noon at the funeral home on Tuesday. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Katharine Lea Aalseth was born on August 2, 1972 in Sioux City, Iowa to Gary and Esther (Mead) Aalseth. Their family first lived in Sioux City and then moved to Sergeant Bluff, IA. In 1988, they moved to Merrill, IA and Kathy attended Le Mars Community High School. They then moved to Le Mars and Kathy graduated from high school in 1991. She also attended WIT Community College in Sioux City from 1991-1992.

Kathy continued to live in Le Mars except for a short time when she lived in Kansas City, MO to help take care of her father.

Kathy worked at Lally's Eastside, The Abbey, and Wal Mart all in Le Mars until she had to retire due to her health.

Kathy enjoyed playing many games on her phone and watching movies, especially The Princess Diaries. She collected stuffed animals and had a favorite beloved bunny. Kathy shared two cats (Mittens and Boaboa) with her brother and roommate, Keith.

Kathy is survived by her two brothers, Keith Aalseth and Kurt (Amy) Aalseth; two nephews: Michael Aalseth and Thomas Aalseth; and other extended relatives.

Kathy is preceded in death by her mother, Esther (Mead) Aalseth; and her father, Gary and Janice (Elrod) Aalseth.
