Kathi Butcher, 73, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024, at Accura Healthcare of Le Mars.

Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Le Mars Bible Church in Le Mars.  Pastor Fred Gums will officiate.  Burial will be at a later date.  Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the Le Mars Bible Church. Kathi Annette Moughan, the daughter of Patrick and Rosetta Moughan, was born on March 4, 1951, in Sioux City, Iowa.  She attended school in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1969.

She was united in marriage to Michael H. Butcher in May of 1969.  To this union, a son, Anthony 'Tony' was born.  Early on, they moved to Jacksonville, Florida, while Michael was in the service.  After his discharge, they moved back to Sioux City.  They later divorced.

Kathi worked several jobs, the one she enjoyed the most was providing in home daycare of over 20 years.  She then went to work for Child Protection Services in Iowa and Nebraska.  Her last job was with Pesch Optical in Sioux City until her retirement.  In 2011, she moved to Le Mars to be closer to her family.

She was a member of the Le Mars Bible Church.  Over the years, she enjoyed participating in car club events and camping.  Her greatest joy was her family.  She loved being 'Grammy' to her 3 grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Anthony 'Tony' (Kari) Butcher of Le Mars, IA, and their children, Emilee, Elaina, and Evan; her brother: Robert 'Bobby' Moughan; and her sister: Cindy Woods.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son in infancy; a daughter in infancy; and her siblings: Pixie Moughan, Dennis Moughan, and Patrick Moughan.
