Obituary

Kenneth O. Taylor, 83, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Accura Healthcare of Le Mars.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. James Church in Le Mars. Father Doug Klein will celebrate Mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from noon until service time and following the services during a time of lunch and fellowship, all at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Kenneth Orval Taylor, the son of Clifford and Elaine (Bass) Taylor, was born on September 8, 1942, in Santa Monica, California. After his father's discharge from the service, they moved back to Nebraska. Ken attended school in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1960.

He was united in marriage to Carol Hoesing on December 1, 1962, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Newcastle. Following their marriage, they moved to Sioux City.

Ken worked for Wincharger, Zenith, and Dyna Technology while they lived in Sioux City. In 1977 they moved to LeMars and Ken worked as Plant manager of EMW Groschopp in Sioux Center. In 1992 Ken retired from EMW Groschopp and grain farmed near Akron for over 20 years.

He was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars. He enjoyed restoring tractors and was a member of the Pioneer Machinery Club. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. He and Carol enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and taking many bus trips.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of Le Mars, IA; a daughter, Sheri (Matt) Doyel of Sioux City, IA, and family, Drew (Brittany) Johnson of Ireton, IA, and Derek (Danyel) Johnson of Le Mars, IA, and their children, Lily, Lexi, and Lacy; a son, Doug Taylor (Carole Bowman) of Le Mars, IA, and his children, Mitch Taylor of North Liberty, IA, and Dylan (Nicholle) Taylor of Tiffin, IA; his siblings: James (Mary) Taylor of Vermillion, SD, Trish (John) Villebro of Newcastle, NE, and Mary (Joe) Kuehler of Columbus, NE; sister in law, Marilyn (Dennis) Sydow of Yankton, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Elaine Taylor; parents-in-law Rudolph and Frances Hoesing, his sister, Helen (LeRoy) Hoesing; and his brother-in-law, Richard Hoesing.
