Kenneth John White

Kenneth 'Kenny' White, 84, of Merrill, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a public procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:45 a.m. from Rexwinkel Funeral Home. Family and friends are encouraged to wear their favorite racing shirt for his services. The family will be gathering at Kenny’s home following the graveside service. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Kenneth John White, the son of Martin and Ethel (Ostert) White, was born October 15, 1941, in Le Mars, Iowa. Early on, he moved with his family to Alta, Iowa. In 1947, they moved to Merrill, Iowa, where he attended school.

Kenny worked for Boyer Provision in Sioux City as a delivery driver. He then went to work for I.B.P. in Dakota City, Nebraska. He worked as a supervisor until his retirement.

He married Linda Veach on December 30, 1966. The couple made their home in Merrill. Linda passed away on February 8, 2016.

Kenny loved working on cars and his 360 Sprint car. While working on his cars, his garage was the hot spot to stop by and help out and have a beer or two and catch up on racing. He raced sprint cars for many years. He enjoyed attending the Knoxville Nationals for several years. He also enjoyed listening to country music, especially Hank Williams Jr. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Kandice Lara (Andy Kreinert) of Le Mars, IA; his grandchildren: R.J. Lara of Merrill, IA, and his son, Nohlyn, Gabriella White (fiance, Derek Movall) of Aurelia, IA, and children, Kenzie and Grayson, and Alexander White (Emily Koonce) of Leland, NC; a niece, Deb Gillaspie of Merrill, IA; a nephew, Carl White of Florida; and great nephews, Ryan Gillaspie (fiancé, Robin Korthals) of Merrill, IA, and his daughter, Brylee Gillaspie, and Adam Gillaspie of Nehawka, NE, and his children, Eli, Waylond, Abram, and Lawson Gillaspie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Ethel White; his siblings: James White and Geraldine (Stan) Vanderloo; and a nephew, Michael White.
