Lamont H. Hageman, 88 of rural Le Mars, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Hinton. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials are preferred.

Lamont Henry Hageman was born on June 27, 1937 to Marvin 'Buck' and Mildred (Ludwig) Hageman in Sioux City, Iowa. He was raised in rural Hinton, attending local country school. He continued his schooling at Hinton High School where he graduated in 1955.

Lamont enlisted in the United States Army on November 13, 1959 and attended basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. He was honorably discharged on November 1, 1965.

Lamont was united in marriage to Lois Ann Bohlke on January 19, 1974 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. They made their home on a farm in rural Le Mars near Hinton. To this union they had one daughter, Kimberly.

Lamont was a lifelong farmer, helping his father at a young age and he farmed until his health declined. Lamont grew corn, beans, and alfalfa while also raising cattle and hogs. He had many beloved collie farm dogs over the years.

In his younger years, Lamont enjoyed pitching for fast pitch softball. He played with good friends on teams in both Merrill and Hinton. Lamont was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Hinton where he also served as secretary for the council for a few years. He was a talented woodworker, making many gifts for family and neighbors including: barns, dollhouses, wishing wells, and playhouses. He enjoyed mowing the lawn and playing cards, especially euchre. He also enjoyed taking family fishing trips to Many Point Lake in Minnesota.

Lamont had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready with a joke. He had a natural way of connecting with people and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Lamont loved the movie, Lonesome Dove, and he wished to be remembered as one of his favorite quotes, "Cheerful in all weathers. Never shirked a task. Splendid behavior."

Lamont is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter, Kimberly (Brian) Larson; grandsons: Cason Larson and Chace Larson; sisters: Linda Waring and LaDonna (Denny) Newberg; brother in law, Raymond Bohlke; nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Lamont is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin 'Buck' and Mildred (Ludwig) Hageman; parents in law, Ed and Cecilia (Lanners) Bohlke; brothers in law: Don Waring, Clayton (Delores) Bohlke, and Floyd 'Bud' (Bonnie) Bohlke; and sisters in law: Rosie (Arnie) Welter, Shirley (Bill) Traufler, Marilyn (Donald) Hoffman, and Darlene (Don) Thill.
